Him and the World
The question, What the world is like,
Still remains in all its freshness.
Hamlet asks it beautifully,
Though there’s murk in how he asks.
Be kind to him; pierce that old murk,
See kindness in his subtlety,
Grandeur in his ambiguity;
Sweetness in the intricate verse
With which he asks
About him and the world.
