Poetry of Eli Siegel
Taker, This
One does see more, though
The head is smashed and the hands
Are very weary, resting on hard pavement.
See sky miserably, and high things drearily—
Afternoon sluggishly, and stores in pain
Slow, wide pain; the same time, though,
Something speedy and having much color
Is dashing, going this way, that way, taking sights and matters.
This constant, never-not-moving sight, goer, haver, seizer, taker, this.
